Hell Needs a Caption

Every Wednesday and Friday evenings I train with the local track and field club. Wednesday nights however, are special. That's because we all get together afterwards for drinks (usually beer) and munchies (like nuts, chips and sweetbread). Last week, the person hosting brought with him a few cases of a light tasting beer he got in Germany. They were 50cl bottles (just shy of 17 fl oz) with a 5% alcohol content called, Hell.

This is just dying for a caption, don't you think?

Hope you all have a great weekend, and if it turns out like Hell, then consider yourself lucky and have another.
Cheers!

  2. Don't think you want that freezing over.

  3. Very cute, Elise. You know that by doing this, everybody's going to want you to send them a case. Email me for my address! ;o)

    "Hell. Beer that's so good, you'd never know it was demon piss. Serve warm."

    1. LOL! Oh, that was good, but for a minute there I thought you were describing Guinnesse. (;

  5. That's a nice bottle I know several would like to have here. Like 150 hahaha :)

  6. Hmmm. Looks different than I remember...

  7. That is a new one on me, but from a marketing perspective, I certainly see the advantages for those with creative talents.

    You are a trooper if you can hit the bar after a series of track and field exercises. I'd be lucky to make it up the stairs at our house if I stepped up my workouts to that intensity.

    1. Oh, we don't hit the bars. There's a little modular office building next to the track where we get together after washing up in the locker rooms. And since we all have to drive, we're pretty reasonable with the alcohol consumption. It's actually a nice time to get together and hang out with the other runners. (:

  10. Hi Elise,

    Ah yes, that bottle certainly conjures up some thoughts. And if it had been a British beer, I might of come up with a 'bitter' comment. And speaking of Guinness, I do believe that it's burnt toast dipped in water. Definitely an acquired taste :)

    I wish to thank you for your very kind and supportive comment on my site. That meant a lot. Thank you, Elise. Have a peaceful, positive weekend.

    In kindness and goodwill,

    Gary

  12. Are you training for anything in particular, or just to stay in shape?

    That's a great name for a beer and I think a good slogan might be....

    "If someone asks you for a beer....give 'em Hell!" :)

    1. Primarily just to stay in shape. Joining a club forces me to get out of my chair, out of my house, and interact with people with flesh on them. (; However, I do sign up for trail races from time to time, though it's never about placement more than it's about finishing the race. I'm hoping to do my first half marathon sometime this spring....hopefully...

      And you're right, next time someone comes to my house, I'm givin' em Hell! xD

  14. I guess you could just write "YES" after the Hell. But I'm not a great ad person.

  15. Hell...yes it does freeze over.

    Like my caption? Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the laugh.

  17. Maybe Hell means something different in German? It sure doesn't look like typical "hell" with that pastoral picture on the label. Well, the important thing is if you enjoyed yourself - I hope you did! :-)

    1. Google translate says 'hell' means 'bright' in English. Makes more sense, but isn't quite as funny. (; And yes, the beer wasn't bad, I liked it. (:

  18. No caption from me, but I love this! Thanks for the laugh. :)

  19. Love it. I guess something is lost in translation here. :)

    1. LOL! But one could argue that it is "bright" in Hell.... (;

  20. I always thought hell means 'light' in german but I won't argue with google!

    1. It may depend on context. And I don't think google is the best translator out there. Need to ask someone who actually speaks German, me thinks. (;

    Training with the local track and field club? You go girl!
    Enjoy your weekend Elise!

  25. You'll certainly feel like Hell if you have more than 4 or 5! Not that I might've done that celebrating the glorification of head traumas and tight pants also known as US football last night or anything. ;-)

  26. That is funny! Did it taste like hell?
