Ok, first the guidelines:
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by:
of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page (ok, so I'm already not following the rules.*sigh* My sentences come from different pages, but I don't think it spoils the story.)
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE ANY SPOILERS!
- Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away!

A literary Christian novel about a serial killer, his mother and his mate.
by Nancy LaRonda Johnson
Teaser:
"The next morning, however, the only dream or thought that remained in her consciousness was of him, and it was not good."
***
"Thomas felt invincible and completely powerful when he was with his father, and wanted to prove to him that, even without Alezea, they could be more powerful than God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost."
Blurb on back cover:
To find out whether hope prevails, and if God's hand guides their fight for a life free from Satan's control, you must first experience the trials and loss suffered by Alezea and her serial killer son, Thomas.
For there is no hope for the sinner without first reaching for the love of God.
Teaser:

Think Thomas will find his answer to that one!

Ooh this sounds pretty interesting. I like it!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very interesting and dark read for sure.
DeleteSanta is just Satan with the letters arranged.

ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Nancy!
Delete...my wife would adore this read. Thanks for the heads up ;)
ReplyDeleteEl
You're welcome Elliot. It's a very dark and at times horrifying book, but the writing is excellent.
DeleteYes, I had to go back and make sure it said "Satan" and not "Santa"....my eyes were going a bit buggy there :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting read, though...
You guys had be nervous that I typed Santa instead of Satan, which I wouldn't have been surprised at. I'm a typo expert. Typo black belt actually. (;
DeleteHmm, I'll have to check that one out. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Celeste, So far it's been a very dark read but also well written. (:
Deleteponderful...
ReplyDeleteIndeed wuff. (:
DeleteWhenever I hear the word 'penitent' I always think of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ...... I'm sure nobody has a clue what I'm talking about
ReplyDeleteI had to look it up but... "Only the penitent man will pass." (is that it?) (:
DeleteThat is the power of an excellent writer: no matter what the topic is, I still am interested in starting the read, and before I know it, I am captured by the story.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to take a look at Nancy's work; since I read some in the genre.
I agree and I think you'll like it. (:
DeleteThat's a pretty powerful teaser, Elise. And scary. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a pretty powerful read so far.

ReplyDeleteGo for it!
DeleteWow. That's sounds like some heavy duty reading!
ReplyDelete(I think you did great with your first Teaser Tuesday. ;)
Gosh, Elise - I didn't realize that was how Teaser Tuesday worked. It's actually an excellent way of finding new reading material. Hmmm...I rather like the look of that book!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great way to check out what people are reading and get a few teasers at the same time. I don't think I'll do it every Tuesday, but I will jump in from time to time I think. (:
DeleteCool! And I like your book marker too! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mina! I can't sit and read without that particular bookmark, yep I'm weird. (;

ReplyDeleteHey Medeia! I'm new to the whole Teaser Tuesday meme but I think it's a good way to share a little about what we're reading. (:
