NaNo: Day26

National Novel Writing Month

Daily Word Count: Not nearly enough!
Total Word Count: 24,285
Words Remaining: 25,715

Ok, so I kinda sorta fell off the writing wagon two days ago and holy crap I'm struggling to get back on. And now, I'm basically freaking the holy hell out.

Plus, this weekend (the last two days of the challenge!!) I'll be going to my Ultimate (frisbee) tournament. I'm barely recovering from a sprained ankle but I'm not worried about hurting myself again, I'm worried I won't even hit the 30k mark. Accckkkk! But, I'll bring my laptop and try to sneak in some writing time in between games.... Ok, yeah I know that's not really going to work, there's going to be much beer drinking after the game....

So you know what?

I'm going to quit moaning, keep writing, try my best, and remind myself that things could be a whole lot worse. And if I don't hit my 30k mark by the end of the month, at least I got my F*ck Cancer t-shirt this morning, because... you know...

And for all celebrating this Thursday,

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

:D

  1. Hi Elise .. I can't quite imagine participating in a frisbee tournament ... I'm happy to run after a ball ... but chasing a frisbee ... not an option now-a-days ... take care of that sprained ankle, good luck with catching up ... and yes absolutely fight cancer ... cheers Hilary

  2. You said it!
You've still hit halfway, which is way more words than you would've written if you hadn't attempted NaNo. Don't beat yourself up!
Have a great Thanksgiving, Elise - see you on the other side of NaNo.

  4. As everyone says, you hit the half way mark and you wouldn't have written anything if you hadn't done NaNo. Do be careful of the ankle. Like your cancer shirt too.

  5. That's a ton of writing even if you don't get more done. Enjoy the tournament and wear the shirt proudly.

  6. Some words are better than none! I was being a decent blogger, then fell off the wagon- evidently missed out on who stole your cool hats for the NaNo post updates, though the F* Cancer tee is pretty freaking awesome (can't type the word- challenged my kids when they were little, they'd get $50 each if they caught me saying it. I figure in about ten more years I can afford to start dropping F bombs- not that I'm getting rich or anything, but the dollar is losing value)

  11. Hey Frenchie :)

I think trying to catch a low-flying Frisbee is a great idea and I *especially* like the after-game efforts to rehydrate :)

Sounds like something I should try :)

Awesome T-shirt by the way... but why are you pointing at your boob?
