Mina Lobo at Some Dark Romantic was sweet enough to pass on some blog love my way with the Super Sweet Blogging Award. Thanks Mina! The rules are simple, answer the questions and pass on the award.
Ok, so lets roll...
Cookies or Cake?
Depends on the cookie or cake. At the moment I really like these salted caramel cookies that go great dipped in tea, but right now it's Galette des Rois time over here in France and I love the apple kind (even though I NEVER get the slice with the frickin token, grrrrr), so I guess to answer simple, I'll go with cupcakes! :p
Chocolate or Vanilla?
Vanilla with chocolate drizzled on top...
What is your favorite sweet treat?
You know, I'm actually not that big of a sweet treat kind of person.
I'm more of a steak and sausage type. Ok, so that did sound weird but you get what I mean! But to play along I'd have to say....Ferrero Rocher.
When do you crave sweet things most?
Late at night.
If you had a sweet nickname what would it be?
HA! I actually did have a sweet nickname as a kid. I used to be called Cookie by a few who shall remain nameless. (;
And Melissa Maygrove over on her site also tagged me with the Addictive Blog Award. Thank you bunches Melissa!
The rules of the award are:
1. Thank the person awarding you. check
2. Share a little about why you blog and how the journey started. check
Well, this is easy. I started this blog about a year ago thanks to a good friend of mine who is also a writer and blogger. She mentioned Rachael Harrie Platform Building Campaign and before I could over think what I was getting into, I jumped in and started this blog a few days before the campaign having no idea what I was doing. And I'm so grateful she pushed me out of my writers closet because the writing community is amazing and I can't imagine continuing this journey without you guys. (=
3. Paste the blog award on your page. check
4. Nominate 10 other bloggers you feel deserve the award.
check, sorta....
Ok, so the not so great thing about vacation is coming back and having to catch up! I wanted to put myself under some pressure well Madame has been served! So in the interest of time, I'm going to nominate folks for the Sweet award if your first name starts with a letter from A - L. If your first name starts with M-Z, considered yourself tagged with the Addictive award and don't try to weasel out of this, I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. (:
HAPPY FRIDAY FOLKS!!!!
Congratulations! Already won the Sweet award. And not touching the sausage line with a ten foot pole.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for sending Mini-Alex! Hope you receive CassaStar soon.
Hey ALEX guess what I got in the mail just a few hours ago!???!
DeleteCassaStar!! Thanks so much for sending it, I can't wait to dive in and read your series. Merci (:
Elise, Cassastar is an enjoyable read, I'm sure you'll like it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, love your 'recent snapshots', upclose and interesting! We're bird lovers, and the nature shots are great. You've got a good eye for composition.
I'll 'pass' re the other sweets or savories, thanks. Good Luck with your writing!
Thanks DG, I really am looking forward to reading it, and glad you enjoy the snap shots. If you click on one of the images and then click on paintingthingspretty, it should take you directly to my flickr account where you can see a few more shots.
DeleteI did check out your Flickr account. Very nice! Photography is one of my passions, too, so I enjoyed seeing what your camera eye captures.
DeleteOooh, that sweet blog award looks delish! Too bad we can't pass the real thing through the blogoverse. Congrats Elise!
ReplyDeleteNo kidding! LOL, thanks Gwen! (:
DeleteI can't have too much sausage anymore. It's just really unhealthy. And I should curb my sweets too. Got that all too common weight issue goin' on.
ReplyDeleteThe name "Cookie" is definitely interesting.
I need to cut out a lot of my meat intake too. But I do exercise, though probably not enough, lol!
DeleteI will often pass over desert for a second piece of bread. Provided it's good bread. Yea, it's not much healthier. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteOh if you like bread, I have a no knead bread recipe I can pass onto you that is easy to make at home and is OHHHH SOOOO yummy! Got to love the carbs.... (;
DeleteYou are sweet! Cookie-I like it!
ReplyDeleteoooh, this post made me hungry~
I'm a popcorn kinda gal ;D
Congrats Elise
Oh I like popcorn too! Just thinking about it is making me hungry, lol!
DeleteAgree on that "Vanilla with chocolate drizzled on top..."
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's one of my favorites, simple but so yummy. (:
DeleteAlways so nice to have our blogs acknowledged. Congratulations-- and fun stuff to read.
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie, it's fun to share some goofy stuff about myself with you guys. (=
DeleteIt's true, it depends on the cookie and the cake. Although personally I'll always go for chocolate over vanilla.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the awards!
Thanks for stopping in Jenna. Usually I'd go for chocolate over vanilla too, except for the ice cream thing, weird but, that's me. (;
DeleteOh man. I WISH I wasn't a fan of sweets. I LOVE them. Haha.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Thanks Kelley, Have a great New Year too! (=
DeleteWell done on the awards, mon ami,
ReplyDeleteAnd bloody hell, mate, I loved your pics over at Flikkr... you definitely have The Eye:)
I'm amazed you got birds to sit in your hand... I can't even get two in the bush :)
Merci Mark. I'll email you directions on how to get birds to sit in your hand. Step one, have clean windows....
DeleteDon't get me talking about those sweet things! I'm still doing the Atkins diet. Congrats on your award. You've done well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy! I spend most of my energy trying to avoid the sweet stuff! uggg! (:
DeleteHi Elise ... having been ill - the New Year started with an enforced diet - can be no bad thing! Just got to remember to keep food away somehow ..?! Congratulations on your awards ...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year - and am glad to read you had a lovely holiday break .. cheers Hilary
Hi Hilary, I saw on your blog that you were having a rough start to the new year. I really hope you are feeling better by now, hugs!
DeleteMmm. Ferrero Rocher. Those salted caramel cookies sound yummy, too! :D
ReplyDeleteI started blogging around the time of Rach's campaign, too. In fact, I think that's how we met. I'm glad we did. Great blog, Elise. :)
Yep, that's where you and I met and I'm so glad too! It's been crazy hasn't it!? :D
DeleteHi, Elise. I have been away from my blog for most of December, so I am going to grab the blog award that goes with my name, "Melissa". I needed something, some kind of push to get me back into blogging and now I have it. Thanks.Oh, and I just had to comment on the question about having a sweet nickname . Growing up with the last name, "Sugar", well you can imagine how much I was teased. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteMelissa! I'm glad you're back, hope you had a wonderful holiday break, and you are more than welcome to snag the award, you've got a great blog! Looking forward to your answers...and yes I can imagine it must have been tough as a kid with Sugar as a last name, kids can be so mean sometimes. But you know, I think your last name is great, it stands out and is not one easily forgotten. (:
DeleteThe Blog Bling definitely looks good on you! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks DL! (=
DeleteI like steak and sweets. Hence the constant diet resolutions...congrats on your awards!
ReplyDeleteThanks Azara!
Delete"constant diet resolutions..." Yeah, I know all about those! LOL
