On Your Mark, Get Set…Wait ! Hold EVERYTHING!

Hello, my name is Elise and I’m a closet writer. But I’m getting treatment and hopefully will be joining the Fourth Writers' Platform-Building Campaign! This is a great way to get advice and meet other really nice and talented writers!

So as you can see, I’ve just started this blog. It’s my SECOND go at it. My first attempt failed miserably. I wasn’t getting any feedback and part of it was my own fault. I didn’t tell anyone about the blog! I’m such a chicken and so much more comfortable with a lamp shade over my head. You have no idea how much it makes me squirm having my pic open to the public and how hard it was for me not to draw a moustache on myself!

So, if this sort of thing makes me uncomfortable why do I do it? Because it’s time for me to stop writing in the dark. I need to step out of my comfort zone or I’ll regret it later on in life. And speaking of life, isn’t it best to share the journey with others then sit in the corner by yourself? Of course it is!

  1. Hello Elise *waves*...and congrats on taking the BIG step. Not a lot of people from my outside-writing world know that I blog (or write for that matter) but the writing community is great!
I just joined the campaign myself - looking forward to interacting regularly :D

  2. Hi Elodie, Thanks for stopping in! This is my first campaign and I am so looking forward to it. It's not easy getting out there as you know, but I've already gotten a feel for how generous and supportive the writing community is.

  4. Hi Elise! Thanks for stopping by the blog, and congrats on the return to blogging! Since you're making another go at it, I have two suggestions:

    1) See if you can enlarge the font size of your posts
    2) Consider a different background. Sometimes the bright colors with a white box make it harder to read.

And last, take all suggestions with a grain of salt. Looking forward to getting to know you more.

    1. Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming!! I'll definitely work on the layout, I'm not a fan of it either! (:

  5. Oh yes. I completely understand!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Urban fantasy and paranormal are really close. A couple of people said they've joined more than one group. I'm thinking I may do that too. But either way, it sounds like we have similar interests.

I hope you post pics of your cats drawings.;)

  6. Elise, we've all been there! I didn't have many followers until I joined the campaign last August. And then all of a sudden I had over 100 followers! Stick with it. I go in spurts - I'm pretty sure I didn't even blog last December, lol. Oh well, we do what we can. I'm your newest follower!

  11. Hi Elise, I'm also a Campaigner and I can totally relate to what you're saying. Starting my blog (and then telling people about it!) was a massive deal and now I love it :-)
